September 2004       IW SGC SaraJen Scoresby       Mainesuspect Caol Ila       Black silver classic tabby       Teri Matzkin Bommer came to us from the SaraJen cattery in Arlington, Virginia. I met his breeder in 2003 at a cat show in Pennsylvania, where she showed Bommer's father, Scoresby, as a young boy. Scoresby was for me the most impressive Maine Coon male I had ever seen, and it was clear that I wanted to have a kitten from this boy. Bommer was exactly what I had hoped for and more: He had a nearly perfect head with gigantic ears that were very well placed even up to an old age. Bommer is physically a giant, yet his personality is that of a lamb. We have built up a very special relationship with Bommer while travelling to numerous cat shows all over Europe and the US with him. It was a pleasure to present him and to experience him very personally in the hotel rooms. Bommer has sired 7 litters here and he has passed on his beauty and his great character to his offspring. Unfortunately we had to let him go at the age of 12 due to cancer, but he always remains in our memory.
